Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Backend / API Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that power the client's ecosystem. This role focuses on developing APIs, integrating with third-party systems, and ensuring reliability of data workflows across healthcare environments.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in C#/.NET Core, SQL Server/Azure SQL, and REST/GraphQL API development, with exposure to cloud-native architectures (preferably Microsoft Azure).
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support enterprise-scale applications.
• Collaborate with front-end, mobile, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and secure coding standards.
• Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access layers for performance.
• Integrate with third-party APIs, EHR systems, and external services via REST, SOAP, and HL7/FHIR standards.
• Implement authentication/authorization strategies (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, RBAC).
• Contribute to architecture discussions and help evolve Definity’s microservices and event-driven ecosystem.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve API reliability, scalability, and security.
• Stay current with new backend frameworks, cloud technologies, and integration standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing backend systems and APIs in C#/.NET Core.
• Strong experience with SQL Server/Azure SQL (queries, indexing, optimization).
• Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, API Management).
• Proficiency in designing and documenting RESTful APIs (GraphQL experience is a plus).
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, HIPAA compliance) is highly desirable.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control (Git, Azure DevOps).
