Job Description

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to represent the general contractor and oversee safety performance on a large-scale project. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting project teams in delivering safe and successful results.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture: Prepare and enforce health and safety policies that build a safe, proactive jobsite environment.
• Lead Safety Programs: Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Monitor & Report: Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates
• Identify & Solve Hazards: Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are put in place.
• Drive Engagement: Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
• Stay Present & Involved: Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
• Oversee Site Activity: Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
• Investigate & Improve: Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
• Enforce Standards: Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.
• Support the Project: Contribute to additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of direct construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification required.
• CHST, CSP, or other BCSP certifications preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of data centers, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction preferred.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA standards).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence subcontractors and crews.
• Proven success in implementing and managing comprehensive safety programs.
