About the School

Our respected IB World School in Wuxi is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and student-focused Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join their expanding secondary team. The school offers the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), providing a rigorous, inquiry-driven education within a supportive, internationally minded community.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality mathematics instruction across secondary grade levels, with the possibility of teaching both MYP and DP (Applications & Interpretation and/or Analysis & Approaches, depending on experience). You will inspire students to think critically, engage deeply with mathematical concepts, and develop the confidence to apply their understanding in real-world contexts.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the IB MYP/DP frameworks

- Use a range of assessment strategies to support and evaluate student learning

- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

- Contribute to curriculum development and collaborative planning

- Support extended mathematical learning, including after-school support or enrichment

- Participate in school events, community activities, and ongoing professional development

- Uphold the school’s commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and international-mindedness

Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field

*Recognized secondary teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, QTS, state license)

*Minimum 2 years of successful secondary mathematics teaching experience

*IB MYP and/or DP experience preferred (training provided for strong candidates)

*Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and conceptual teaching

*Excellent communication, teamwork, and intercultural skills

*Commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)

Must be a native speaker of English

Prefer candidates with international experience

Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted

Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied

Housing:

Housing allowance of Based on application   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) provided
