Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rheumatology Physician to join our medical team. The physician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, gout, and other systemic inflammatory conditions. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with rheumatic and autoimmune conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, and lab tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans using medications, lifestyle changes, physical therapy, and/or procedures such as joint injections.
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and progress.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, and other specialists.
• Educate patients and their families about chronic disease management and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research opportunities, and continuing medical education.
• May supervise medical students, residents, or fellows depending on the setting.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency and a Rheumatology fellowship program.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Rheumatology (ABIM or AOBIM).
• Valid NYS medical license in Rheumatology.
• DEA license and current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and bedside manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in outpatient or hospital-based rheumatology practice (new grads welcome to apply).
• Experience with ultrasound-guided joint injections.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is typically performed in an outpatient clinic, hospital, or academic setting.
• May involve sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Regular interaction with patients, caregivers, and medical staff.
