Summary:

Our client is a premier, global automotive supplier looking for a Senior Manager Customs & Trade Compliance, Americas . The Senior Manager, Customs & Compliance, will be responsible for ensuring the USA, Mexico, and Brazil comply with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations governing import and export activities.

The Senior Manager, Customs & Trade Compliance, must hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience in a comparable role.

Senior Manager Customs & Trade Compliance Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or job related field from an accredited institution
  • Automotive customs experience
  • Work experience 5 years minimum in similar role (Better 7-10 Years)
  • Manufacturing, Purchasing, Legal, Logistics experience a plus
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES) are preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills with strict attention to detail
  • In depth knowledge of US / MX / BR Customs and Border Protection Regulations
  • Working knowledge of CBP portals and website

Senior Manager Customs & Trade Compliance Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Lead of US / MX / BR Customs Team
  • Leading the US / MX / BR Customs Team and Reporting to VP Customs & Foreign Trade
  • Significant support in IMMEX process / Mexico
  • Strategic support and advice to mitigate customs costs (e.g. section 301 tariffs, etc.)
  • Support in roll out of global projects (Export Controls, Free Trade Agreements, etc.)
  • Review of legal changes and implementation
  • Advise on complex supply chains / strategic decisions
  • Support of external and internal customs audits and self-assessments
  • Communication with customs authorities and external service providers
  • Develop, monitor and report quarterly on established KPIs and ACE reports
  • Support of strategy regarding punitive tariffs and trade barriers (e.g. section 301 duties, etc.)
